Renowned for its remarkable selection of mussels and artisanal flatbreads, Zula elevates classic dishes with a twist that keeps patrons returning for more. Diners rave about the French-style mussels, hugely popular among lovers of seafood, and paired effortlessly with their house-made bread. The consistency and flavor of these mussels have truly captured the hearts (and taste buds) of many guests, as seen in glowing reviews from satisfied customers.
The flatbreads here are anything but ordinary. Crafted with a unique thickness, they maintain a satisfying bite without succumbing to sogginess, setting them apart from typical offerings in other eateries. Patrons, like Shannan Volters, have appreciated the accompanying aioli, emphasizing the careful consideration placed on every component of the meal.
Exploring the menu further, Zula's Crudo selections dazzle with options like the Rare Seared Tuna and Beef Carpaccio, making it a haven for those who enjoy fresh, exquisite ingredients. Their use of locally-sourced produce, such as baby kale and heirloom tomatoes, accentuates the vibrant tastes in each dish.
As the dining experience unfolds, guests can't resist indulging in the decadent Salted Caramel Crème Brûlée, a sweet conclusion that has left varying impressions—some adore it, while others find it less appealing to their palate. Regardless, Zula’s diverse dessert menu ensures there's something for everyone.
Moreover, the consistent praise for Zula's attentive service highlights a commitment to creating a welcoming environment. “ The restaurant is right across the street from the Washington Park garage. Easy access from freeways if you are coming from the suburbs. We had the mussels in Thai sauce, the Spanish flatbread, and salted caramel creme brulee. The mussels and the Thai sauce were outstanding. I could eat those everyday. The flatbread was also delicious. Unlike flatbreads at other restaurants, the flatbread here is slightly thicker and hence doesn't become soggy. Excellent choice, but I imagine you can't go wrong with any of their flatbreads. The creme brulee was okay. Maybe the salted caramel didn't appeal to my taste, but my wife loved it. The service is outstanding and very attentive. I would easily go here again. This is indeed a gem in the city. ”
“ Love mussels and they are somehow hard to find. This place has a bunch of options. We got the house fries for an app, which has a great aioli with it. I had the french style mussels with the bread. My husband had the goat cheese flat bread and we made sure to leave room for dessert which was yummy. ”
“ It was my first time in Cincinatti and after the Art museum we decided to have a dinner with my coworker at Zula! Omg! Delicious! Everything was delicious! Highly recommended to try French mussels! And server Kristy was taking a good care of us! Thank you! I would definitely visit this place again! ”
“ I thought it was unusual that the highlights of the menu seemed to be mussel bowls and flatbreads, but now I can’t imagine a more suitable pair. The food here is delicious and beautiful and interesting. It’s a clean atmosphere with superb ... ”
“ Came with a couple of girlfriends for one of their birthday. Staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and fun! We had a blast. Mussels are a must get everytime. Highly recommend if you're looking for something different with a cool vibe. ”
“ Zula is a restaurant perfect to show friends for a relaxing night of drinks and pizza or a nice date night and some really fancy dishes. We always get their mussels to start the night. After that it really depends how we are feeling that night because they offer plenty of options. Their fired pizza is wonderful. ”
“ Recently enjoyed dinner at Zula on a business trip with a large group. It was amazing! Our server, Charlie was great - prompt, friendly, professional, and made good recommendations! It seemed like we tried everything on the menu and all was awesome. We started with the charred calamari, deconstructed lamb, and arancini. The lamb and arancini were crowd favorites! We then tried the rare seared tuna crudo, beef carpaccio, and haricot vert, and all were good as well. We also tried the Thai mussels and slow roasted tomato and Spanish flatbreads. Charlie, our server, recommended the Spanish flatbread and it was bomb! Awesome flavors and great portion size. One colleague tried the salmon special and said it was very good. We finished with the panna cotta, walnut Kahlua brownie, and creme brulee. Both were good but the creme brulee was really good! We ate everything so fast I couldn’t get pictures of everything! Awesome experience and I’d highly recommend and will be back! ”
